100 Women of Green Bay donates money to Chappell Elementary School.

GREEN BAY – Some area women are making a difference for an elementary school.

They’re part of a national organization that recently started a chapter in Green Bay. They call themselves 100 Women of Green Bay. Right now, there are 61 members.

After listening to community proposals, they voted on an organization to which to donate $100 each. They decided on Chappell Elementary School in Green Bay. With 61 members, the donation amount is $6,100.

“As a group we think it’s the fastest most impactful way to present a large amount of money to a charity of our choice,” founder Barb Jarvis said. “We all have many causes in our life and this is just a great way to put a group of women together. There’s nothing like women and a pocketbook. We’re powerful, so don’t underestimate us.”

The money will go toward a mother’s support group and after-school programming.

Keeping Our Kids Safe This Summer

The Center For Childhood Safety is the recipient of donations from 100 Women this quarter.  With summer vacation just around the corner, we are excited to make a significant donation to this important community program.  Thank you to everyone who attended last Wednesday’s gathering.
